Alan L. Howard, P.G., C.E.G. - Vice President Brierley Associates Mr. Howard is responsible for the development, planning, management, and completion of project work for tunnels, shafts, microtunnels, mining, water resource development and transportation. Mr. Howard has over 28 years of progressive experience in engineering geology and hydrogeology, including field experience on a wide variety of projects throughout the United States and overseas. His responsibilities include project management, geotechnical investigations, tunnel design and construction and senior review of all geologic aspects of the company’s project work. Mr. Howard is a specialist in geotechnical investigations and instrumentation for tunneling, civil engineering, hydrogeologic and environmental remediation projects. Dr. Eric S. Lindquist, P.E. - Division Manager Dr. Lindquist has sixteen years experience in the design of heavy construction facilities for owners, engineers, and contractors, with an emphasis on underground structures. In addition, he has four years experience performing research in geotechnical engineering and rock mechanics. His design experience includes excavation shoring, slope repairs, tunnels, shafts, trestles, retaining walls, cofferdams, shallow and deep foundations, and pipelines. He has designed a variety of primary supports for tunnels and shafts, including steel ribs, liner plates, jet grout, rock bolts, and shotcrete. Additionally, he has been involved in the design of permanent tunnel liners using cast-in-place concrete, shotcrete, steel pipe, and concrete pipe. He has also analyzed and designed structural rehabilitation systems for pipelines. Sean Harvey, P.G. - Project Manager Mr. Harvey is a licensed professional geologist with over ten years of progressive experience in geotechnical and geologic engineering applications for tunneling, mining, and commercial construction. His responsibilities include tunnel design and construction, tunnel design evaluation, initial support design and evaluation, rock mechanics, geotechnical investigations, geologic interpretation, and construction observation. David J. Berti, P.E., S.E. - Senior Consultant For the past 29 years, Mr. Berti has been an engineering consultant to owners, contractors, and engineers for the design of heavy construction facilities. His design experience includes tunnels, shafts, land and marine cofferdams, pipe jacking and microtunneling, subway construction, caissons, retaining walls, open excavations, powerhouses, temporary dams, equipment trestles, temporary railroad and highway bridges, permanent bridge foundations, temporary bridge shoring supports, concrete falsework, work platforms, rigging, pipelines (hydraulic and structural), temporary excavation shoring, permanent slope repair, and demolition of various structures. Prior to becoming a consulting engineer, Mr. Berti was a project and field engineer and survey party chief for two heavy construction contractors building the subway system in Washington, D.C. He is a registered Civil Engineer in numerous states and a registered Structural Engineer in California. |
